Applying to the Bob Brown House/Independence Homes
How do I apply to live at the Bob Brown House?
You can complete the Admittance Application online, or print it along with the Physician Statement, Housing Agreement, and Disclosure Statement and bring them to your meeting with Bob Brown House admittance personnel. If you have questions, call us at (859) 293-0886.
Who qualifies to live at the Bob Brown House?
Residents must have a physical and/or mental disability, but be independent enough to bathe, dress and feed themselves and care for their own general well being. Our residents range in age and ability — some are blind, some have mental handicaps, some are hearing impaired, and others have other physical disabilities.
How is rent determined?
Rents are based on income within a range of $750–$950/mo, because most of our residents could not otherwise afford to live in traditional housing or other homes for the physically or mentally challenged.
Where is the Bob Brown House located?
We have three locations: 507 Rogers Road and 3057 N Cleveland Road in Lexington, KY, and 1800 Prewitt Grassy Lick Pike in Mount Sterling, KY — serving physically and mentally challenged adults throughout Central Kentucky.
